Just a lot of that album really doesn’t do anything for me but it’s the same with Tri Repetae.

As Autechre lovers (machines) we must replicate their behavior of rejecting beings doted with irrational thinking.
All is fine.

I am incredibly sad. This band was like... so fucking cool to listen to and talk about until midwits from all over the world caught up to the hype and decided to pretend they're Autechre fans just to mimic a sense of having a high IQ.

@Avagantamos: Good stuff! Also your anime hair definitely gives away your high IQ and Autechre-appreciation skills!
@AnimalsAsSummit: IQ would not be a valid discussion if dimwits wouldn't have hijacked this fanbase in the first place, but it's rather obvious. I mean, look how LP5 is blindly applauded lately just because Thom fuckin Yorke recommended it to his fans. When it was released all Ae fans agreed upon its mediocrity, now you try and talk shit about LP5 without a bunch of sensible wussies jumping on your dick LOL! I remember the good old days when Autechre was exclusive to people who understood electronic music, now they've been deconsecrated and even their music started to show signs of inauthenticity. It makes me incredibly sad, uff. As a future mom I will never make the mistake of recommending Autechre to my kids and deny their right to become true fans, obscurely, through their own high IQ intent!

“Record bad because everyone else said so”

i gotta agree with base here honestly, autechre fandom post exai has gotten really weird and obsessive. just browse the watmm threads or the subreddit for about 15 minutes, its mostly really bad shitposting and celebrity worship.
maybe its just cause i havent really cared for much they released after exai but i do think the fandom has gotten out of hand. although i do think its great that they're popularity is surging.

It’s interesting because the general consensus on watmm is that lp5 and the early stuff are good but not up to par with their recent material, while their last couple of releases are seen as god sends. Not only that but the NTS sessions in particular have gotten praise among electronic circles outside that forum too, so it just sounds like base is making up people to get mad at

BUT I do agree that the ol’ ‘techre gets a lot of dick riders as a result of the lame ass /mu/core “music nerd” culture we now have on the internet
