Mostly in the chorus but yeah. Album is sick. I’m loving the direction the band is taking.

Wow... I had super low expectations for this one. Haven't really liked the passed couple albums at all. But this is surprisingly good! Probably the best since Volume 3.

Last song is the best but it just sounds like Machine Head with a slightly different approach to the drums
Just second hand stuff
Know why everyone thinks it sounds better than most of the rest? No cleans. The cleans are so bad.
|
| |
The cleans on their old stuff like Wait and Bleed and My Plague were good but they’re def overused now

Wait and Bleed and My Plague are two of their best songs.

Hmmmm. Some of the luke warm choruses are definitely more apparent on second listen. Not sure how much it drags down the album quite yet.

Red Flag is one of the better songs they've made in the last fifteen years.
Never was the biggest Slipknot fan, but this album is actually pretty solid. Nothing spectacular or overly memorable, but better than anything they've made after Iowa.

It’s been such a solid year for surprising heavy albums.
Devin Townsend, Rammstein and now this. All great records.

Ugh at first I was outraged the reviewer referred to Slipknot as an "old-school" band but then I realised I still think of Vol. 3 as their latest release and it's 16 years old

Well, 15. I don’t really think of Vol. 3 as being super recent, but AHIG for damn sure doesn’t feel like it was released over a decade ago.
