Yeah, this one is a little bit of a grower for me too...

Same haha. Aside from a couple of awkward clean choruses (wish they'd just do away with them) and somewhat poor production this is great.

Actually digging this. not as visceral as CoF to me, but I’m glad they’re back at it again

I was expecting the worst after Underoath and As Cities Burn fell flat on their faces with their comebacks, but I keep coming back to this one. It's nothing groundbreaking but these guys do their style of metalcore really well
agreed it's not as visceral as CoF but this does have its moments. curious to see if they can do stuff that isn't a weird concept album though

Your gif perfectly encapsulates my feelings towards the album, academy.

I'll let the recency bias wear off, but as a casual Oh, Sleeper fan, this is their best album by quite a bit. It has a grittiness that I don't feel on their other work.

how anyone can call this album average is a travesty

They don't have to. This is great.
And I'm sorry, but the review is a mess. You're either repeating yourself, going on a tangent or use weird and hard to follow metaphors. Did anyone get that Uno/Bill/piano thing?!

I'm so sick of seeing this atrocious album art, please somebody review more albums so this can exit the the front page (no offense to you ramon, I'm sure the review itself is great)

This album is really climbing for me. There's so much rawness and vulnerability in the words. Also, I really like Shane's singing on this, so I see that as a positive. Such a great album. So glad they are back.

As someone who is (or was) a Christcore fanboy who decidedly adored Children of Fire for its raw passion and brutality, this album felt really lifeless to me, I was kind of disappointed by it.
