At this juncture- specifically my fifth time listening to Adore- my brain is on some 4D chess shit, calculating vectors and trajectories. Emotions are surfacing that I've felt before, and my brain is throwing up neon signs that read something like this: BLACKGAZE IS FUCKING DEAD.

Damn this album is really great! Sucks to hear they broke up though, would love more material from these guys

much of the blackgaziness was spread into the overall black metal canon I think, so tho the scene itself is pretty dead by now, at least modern black metal has an overall more blackgazey sense of atmospherics and melody than before. definitely more twinkles in atmo-black than before, which I think is a nice silver lining at least.

Blackgaze is postmetal, post bm at max. Blackgaze being seen as a whole genre is frankly anoying

Oh yeah, easily one of my favorite albums in the general -gaze genre. The cleans/all cleans songs kind of drag it down by leaning too butt-rock but honestly in the context of the album I don't hate them and the overall vibe/best moments of the album easily pull it up more than those tracks drag it down.

It's a reference to the classic Ornette Coleman album The Shape of Jazz to Come which was also copped by Refused on the classic The Shape of Punk to Come.
Also cums and sperms.
CULTURE YOURSELF.
