The speediest take on new albums isn't always the most worthwhile. The staff do a great job on maintaining high standards across broad coverage, and I think it's pretty unreasonable to throw their work under the bus over an occasional few days' delay

Just tired of seeing very well-written reviews by Contribs, and sometimes even regular users, get cucked out of being the flagged review by late staff reviews.

I'm sure there are others who are, or have been, upset by this to some capacity, whether or not they voice it. Especially the Contribs/users who fall victim to it.

I once wrote a review for an album that had also been reviewed by a staff member. The album in question was released in 1998, when I was just a wee lad. Had I the foresight & the initiative, my review would be the default.
But I digress.
