Just spinning now for the first time. It’s great but doesn’t hit the same highs as this one, the stories don’t come across quite as well

The tracklist peaks around the same point though strangely.
‘God in Chicago’ and the two tracks after it are best
‘G in C’ will still be my top Finn track in the decade best lists, mainly because I listened to it before I got to this album

Ordinary songs about ordinary people with ordinary problems. Brilliantly straightforward, and quite charming in its own right. Yeah, this is actually pretty great

On Magic Marker the protagonist meets up with a man and does something kinda "strange", which is also referred to as a "trick", for $16,000. What act are we to infer here?

"Her With the Blues" came on on shuffle in my 2019 playlist today and absolutely wrecked me. Wilco's "One and a Half Stars" had just played previously and already had me welling up and within the first few seconds of "Her With the Blues" I was just done for. Even worse, I was walking back from class in public. Really don't know what it was...maybe the brisk mid-afternoon air, or the light, maybe a release of some pent-up emotions about all the change and uncertainty in my life right now... All I know is that moments like that are why I love music so much. I may never have that same response to the song again but that moment alone cements it as a 5/5 song for me.

This section, I mean just...ouch:
You close your eyes
As you ride along Riverside
Daring the world
To knock out your teeth
You read about restaurants
You see what the films are like
You try out the books you should
The music and TV shows
And you get the feeling
That you're missing on something
The people at parties
The things you don't know...

"What act are we to infer here?"
It's unsaid, but something shady, like Saul Goodman / Slipping Jimmy stuff I guess

Blankets was gorgeous. If that’s not even one of the better tracks I’m gonna be floored. Also, he is so on point live (the Murmrr Theatre performance of that song and Magic Marker are incredible)!
