Hope you like it, Chuck. Still has the same kinda flavour you didn't love on that last Princess Nokia tape, but there's a greater emphasis on the songwriting or whatever, so I think it could go down smoother.

All of my favorite music for the last new years seems to be emotionally honest music with no frills. I guess at this point in my life I'm just trying to find something to sing along with and wallow in my own misery. For better or worse I suppose.

And there lies our mutual interest in McCafferty. That Rest sounds so much like Dead Bird is a beautiful coincidence.
What's a month when the whole year is bad? / Had a bad couple nights, but I'm back

Lyrically this echoes a lot of my personal relationship experience in a way that really hits home.
How do we make our love grow? I forget...

Also I tracked down Nick's statements about that. It's sad and a bit ironic to say I think the school system failed Mr. Hartkop.

The way Slow Come On is interpolated into a bunch of these songs is sad and very cool.

Yeah okay, this is growing on me a bit. I’m really sure what to think of this really. Like there’s nothing outright bad about it (which is ironic considering I checked this expecting to hate it), but nothing that’s grabbing me hardcore. I like the beats and the lyrics at times are quite poignant, but it’s not connecting despite the fact that I’ve been jamming it pretty consistently for the past few days. I can see this growing more and being a top album by the end of the year, but I’m not with it yet. These albums are the most frustrating
