1996 and Missing You r both top 10 Brand New songs tbh

missing you chorus is probably the catchiest thing he's ever written. gets stuck in my head endlessly

1996 is great but slightly overrated as far as these demos go. Missing You, Nobody Moves, and Good Man are top 3, then 1996 and Brother's Song are next in line.

Naw 1996 (the demo version) is one of the best songs the band ever wrote. Same with Nobody Moves (Cleanser imo).
I am glad neither of them ended up on an album, they don't really fit anywhere.

I think Nobody Moves might have fit in on TDAG, but the riff is pretty similar to that of Limousine's and I think having both of those songs on the same record would have been overkill. 1996 wouldn't have fit anywhere, though. These demos comprise a beautiful island of misfits songs.

"These demos comprise a beautiful island of misfits songs."
to be fair, so does SF imo

Lol you're not wrong. A lot of the demos could have fit in on SF and vice versa. I actually had a theory at one time that SF was a collection of demos because when the band remastered these demos they said in an official press release or something like that that it would "all make sense in the end". That leads me to believe that we are missing some information because of the way the band ended. I'm 97% sure that there was more material to come and they just ended up scrapping it after the allegations.

Oh it wasn't for this it was for their EP 3 Demos, Reworked. And at some point Jesse's wife let it slip that she did some fan collage artwork or something for a special release (which clearly never happened, or at least not yet). The band's reddit page is full of some crazy stalkers and I'm not usually a party to it but I just happened to stumble across that info.

that's crazy shit, wonder if they will ever release it or if they should?

From what I've seen they all seem over Brand New at this point and are all about their families. I know Jesse is producing on the DL. I think it'll come out as a pay what you want for an equal rights cause if it ever does, but I'm not counting on anything.

Yo this album's pretty damn great

1996 is incredible!
Crazy how strong these songs are. I'm honestly not as big on the reworks. They are fine, but the originals are just awesome.

This is not an official release and should be deleted from the database immediately! Sowing, get on it.

This one is. They own the rights. It's the remaster.

They released it officially in 2015 and it is sold on their website in various formats including cassette

You are the only person on the entire planet who thinks this is classic and credits the band as decent.
Literally the only one. How does that make you feel? Exceptional? Have you found your true individualism within an existential plain of relativity which has lifted you to exultant levels of personal achievement?
Lovely.
Now get real and realise this band is a pile of cunt and move on.

Zak is a gem of this website's history and I think we need to start documenting all his comments for some sort of enshrinement
