Ok so if you had to choose between this, Enter the Wu-tang and Illmatic, what would you choose?

I like this more than Illmatic. Both are classic though.

I think more than anything, I heard Illmatic first... I think I've just come to the conclusion that they're both equally my favorite hip-hop albums

this album is awesome but too much is made about this, illmatic, ready to die, liquid swords and 36 chambers... these artists made better crafted and more meaningful material later on. why are people so obsessed with their first albums? probably because you actually gave their 'classic' albums a chance because everyone (dip shit bloggers and record companies) said to and decided to just agree with everyone and hardly listen to the new stuff.

This is mostly true, but people dislike when artists go more commercial which happens often. Wu-Tang's other albums were more commerical (altough good), same with Nas. As for Gza, his other albums arent really more commercial but they definitly aren't as good as LS. Just my thoughts.

But I do agree that first albums are usually overrated compared to later albums, although in this case The Infamous wasn't their debut.

i guess you are right, but all of them have still made better SONGS than anything on there first albums and I feel like everyone just writes off every song on new albums while obsessing with the 'classics'
