Were you perhaps thinking of Bad Omens? Those guys are forever Sempiternal.

Seventh Circle is heavier than a really heavy thing.

This is the Architects album I wanted back in 2016. All Our Gods... was one of the most disappointing albums of that year (until it was put into context by the circumstances around it). Holy Hell combines all their best elements and balances them out perfectly. I'm so glad Sam uses more clean vocals on this. He has such a strong singing voice and we haven't always heard enough of it.

I felt like most of it sounded like B-sides from Lost Forever. A couple of standouts but everything else really melted together and didn't make for the freshest listening experience. In saying that, knowing Tom wrote it during his cancer battle made me appreciate it for what it was a lot more.
THIS is the album I wanted back then though. Everybody gets a chance to shine and every song has a standout moment.

I really need to go back and jam AOGHAU. I remember it being good, but aside from a couple tracks I don't remember much about it. LF//LT is still my favorite album of theirs.

AOGHAU's biggest advantage over this album is the more unconventional song structures.

mynameischan i think the comparsion to BMTH is rather difficult. Just listen to their first release COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. Maybe u can compare them in terms of success but in general it's a complete different genre respectively a complete different stilistic evolution so i don't get your point here.

I honestly felt like this was a solid, 'how-to-do-it' metalcore album that personifies the genre to a t though, there's nothing unique about it in any way... the vocalists range/ style is almost the same in every song and though the musicianship is great, there's for me nothing about this album that makes it stand out or anything, just another sinking man's screams for help before he descends into the depths of metal music...

This album is good, not great. It's fun for a few listens, but it's not one of the metalcore albums I'll remember this year.

Really disappointed with this. I feel like they've reused so much, from lyrics to riffs and fx from previous albums, nothing really feels fresh. Sad to say I'll have to let it go after listening through it 5 times. Hope their next record will be better.

honestly, most of that feels like a tribute to Tom Searle so I can sorta move past that, its just the structures kinda fuck with me a bit. And I'd love more actual instrumental parts.

I don't mind a tribute to Tom, but I feel like they should've brought some kind of development to their sound considering they have a new guitarist. Ended up sounding like a rehash of previous works to me. Even the tempo of the songs is super similar to the last 2 records. Feels like it lacks that energy present in tracks like Naysayer, Gone With The Wind or Gravity.

I hope Josh does some vocals on the next release! Don't keep that man down.

Why is everyone so in love with Seventh Circle? That main riff just sounds like a generic metalcore/hardcore riff that a million other bands have written

The vocals take it away, you can hear the aggressiveness of his throat shredding and the pain that it oozes. The riff might be a little generic but it is the kind of heavier riff you'd get from their older material with the twist that it often stops and the background synths continue alongside Sam's voice (a la "new Architects") with the synths playing an important part by sounding ominous and feeling like they are on a constant crescendo

Either way this might be my second favourite metalcore album this year despite still being pretty underwhelmed by it, some tracks just save it..
Nothing comes close to Greyhaven's shit (in terms of metalcore) for me, tho suggestions are welcome..

Such a boring album.
Sucks to say that based on the history of what inspired this record--but it is what it is; more of the same.
