I liked the historical shit bc as the plot slowly gets swallowed up by the witches it feels like you're witnessing this fucked up blight/sickness that was born or mutated out of all the suffering and general nastiness of the world war/cold war, and all this shit exists right under the surface of real history. you also feel the full weight of the years of the holocaust on Klemperer in that last scene when Suspiriorum shows him "mercy" so emotionally? fucking right it needed to be there
