These guys get a heavy syncopated groove going like nobody's business though

Apparently they're heavily influenced by SYL. That might be a better riff comparison than Mastodon.

This is kinda ridiculous but has something to it

I'd be more into these guys with if they had a different front man. His vocal style is certainly interesting, but I wouldn't call it good. I can see how others could enjoy his niche a lot though.

I just know this is gonna be one of those albums that I listen to once and really like and then it gathers dust in my BandCamp wishlist for a year and a half before I finally admit to myself that I'm never going to buy it and delete it.

C'mon, fellas. Tears for Fears gone metal/rock.
The vocalist was the main appeal to me. I can't confidently say I would have gave it repeated listens without feeling like the dude from Everybody Wants to Rule the World was singing.

Finally re-listened to this, it's really enjoyable but I'm just not finding myself all that gripped by it. I'd love to see them lean even harder into their synthier influences on their next album, I think that could give them that little extra oomph they need to make something really special.

Well this was incredible. I love everything going on in this, even though I feel like I shouldn't. I don't really like prog usually.

Randomly stumbled across this band and I'm obsessed now. Agree with the comment above but this one is awesome as well. Hope more people check this band out. Such a unique cool sound.

We need to get these guys more love. How this guy manages to sound like a Curt Smith clone is a humorous and fascinating mystery.
