I really don't find any of the lyrics cringey, even the "scatological puns" that Pitchfork criticizes. Though I think Kasher's tongue-in-cheek attitude might make lyrics that I'd normally not be OK with, more tolerable.

Lyrics seem are definitely fitting for a Cursive album. Only part of the lyrics im not huge about is the delivery.

I've listened once now, and I'm not 100% sure on this. Love some of it, some of it might grow. I'll spin it a couple more times just to be sure. Finale is lovely, the last half is brilliant.
