bloc, my dude. I've seen You here and there, but You have no ratings hahah. Any reasoning for that, and more to my curiosity - If You had a gun to Your head, what would You rate Bright Lights?
Now, to be less irrelevant to this album: "Nysmaw" has really grown on me, like a sleepy hypnotic track. This album does indeed float along, it certainly does lack climax as the review stated, but the 'floating' can be quite pleasant at points. Favourite tracks so far are: If You Really Love Nothing, Rover, It Probably Matters, 10, and Nysmaw...

El Pintor is not that good tho

Bruh, this album is fun, yes, but what are You smoking hahah. El Pintor revitalized their career and image. There's several tracks on El Pintor that would fit comfortably on a "Best Of" compilation. There's maybe 2-3 on here. So far I'm only feeling one for certain - If You Really Love Nothing. This album is growing on me more and more tho, so not gonna drop a rating until it sinks in for me

So apparently "Nysmaw" stands for "Now You've seen me at work" and I definitely realize why I'm loving its dark, hypnotic quality - when Paul dips low into his range coupled with Daniel's downstrokes there is a subtle old Goth vibe I'm digging on. Would love to hear Interpol cover some early 80s darkwave, fuck...

I used to have ratings here, but then moved them to RYM a few years ago and now I solely rate stuff there. Oh, and no weapons required; Bright Lights is a hard 5.
"If You Really Love Nothing is an instant classic"
Agreed hard

Mah boi. I'd ask Your other Interpol ratings, but just hit me up with Your RYM listings in my shoutbox. I love perusing people's lists, and most of my 5s on this site have shoutouts for clarification :D

Opening track, #10 and final track are my favs. The Rover, Complications are pretty great as of most of the rest of the tracks besides 2 of them. Could've done without Stay in Touch and Party's Over. Mix is so bad it takes a whole point off of this.

Yea if the production wasn't so compressed and muddled and the interludes were better or not there this would be easy 3.5+ material.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how bad the sound quality is. Though Interpol has consistently put out albums that are mixed/mastered way too loud and compressed.

i still havent listened to any Interpol outside of Bright Lights just because I dont want to ruin that album somehow
