there's a very solid argument to be made for tripod - i haven't listened in ages but it was always the most experimental and interesting to me
it's def not my favorite (dirt, JoF, BGWTB were always much more consistent listens for me) but i think it's a legit opinion to be had

I mean Tripod has both Dirt and Jar of Flies' best styles in one album. I really don't see how the latter two are stronger because they isolate those sounds - Tripod is the most diverse, it has the best songwriting, and its basically the closest grunge ever got to straight up doom (which is where the best grunge should be trying to go)

tripod 100% has some clunkers, it also has some stuff where you're like oh dang didn't realize AIC could make a song like that - a fun oddity in their discography

Just doesn't have anything on Down in a Hole, Rain When I Die, Would? etc
