This is where they started to really become the powerhouse in the scene they were evolving to be
Time Will Die.. had been built up to for a while

It definitely seems like it was built up. Not that it matters but what scene are you referring to? I have no idea how to categorize this band lol

Sheffield innit
or UK hardcore for people that listened to post-rock once or twice, take your pick ;]

Haha I get hardcore, metalcore at times, but then they delve into flirting with bm and post rock textures at times too and all seamlessly. They're so good uuuuugh.

I was referring to metalcore/hardcore. Obviously there's more to them than that, but it's the bedrock of their sound.

Album Rating: 4.5
Yea definitely a dillenger/converge esque foundation, but throw in a fantastic front woman and near perfect sonic experimentation and wow they really shake things up.

Not on this level, but another solid hardcore/metalcore set out of the U.K. fronted by a female vocalist. Really talented and they've got new stuff on the horizon.

also the uk scene is going wild in recent years. Rolo and Employed to Serve are both pushing female vocalists in hardcore and the DIY style. This makes me as an EU member even more sad about the Brexit...

Album Rating: 4.0
It's really interesting starting from Time Will Die and working backwards, as it's clearly the more refined version of this.
I do like the rawness this has in contrast though. I can see why word on the street was that a classic was imminent after this was released
