I think Glint is their best composed song. It feels like a fleshed-out, more confident Sunbather track. I’d put it over maybe even a couple tracks on that album. But I think my favorite on here is probably Worthless Animal. Near is another top contender but I’d put it moreso as a breather than an actual track. But you know if their breather moments are some of the best songs this year then you know you’ve got a stunner. I really can’t get over this album.

Near is good but does it compare to the best Slowdive tracks? Not really. I love the placement and enjoy the track but it's hardly exceptional in the context of the genre.

Oh man the placement of Near is wonderful. It was like a religious experience when it snuck up the first time. I wanted to cry.

Is it out or did it just leak somewhere?

That first track is pretty underwhelming

First track hasn't grown on me at all. None of the tracks that weren't immediate did. Honeycomb, Canary Yellow, Glint, and Worthless Animal are all fantastic though.

Yeah first song is pretty boring. Glint is clearly the best song on here.

It’s a tie between Glint and Worthless Animal as the best for me right now

Canary Yellow is tops

Musically competent, drums sound great, but their style on this isn't doing much for me at the moment. Glint is a good song, but there really weren't a ton of stand out moments and I found a lot of it to be pretty unmemorable.

First listen was around 3.5, second listen around 4. I have a feeling this album goes closer to 4.5.
Beautiful album, so many blissful moments. I think the greatest moment was when Near started during listening whole album.
Worthless animal goes to top5 Deafheaven tracks

This shit is twinkly as fuck. Really enjoying the direction this time around, despite the questionable album artwork.

Yeah, this album artwork certainly leaves a lot to be desired. The music rules, though-- I certainly appreciate the return to the ambiance and melodic approach seen on Sunbather, despite me loving their last album.

I really like the artwork now! Was underwhelming on first sight but turns out that it fits wonderfully with the sound

I wouldn't mind it so much if the text wasn't there.
