very aimless and disjointed album. lots of cool moments but yeah.

it has plenty of cool ideas, but execution-wise it's kinda lacking
lol

really hard to take seriously someone's concerns about this being indicative of 'cultural decline' when you literally only enjoy rock music edit: i misread this, oof.

what is aimless about this? the aims are pretty darn clear

gettin real tired of people reccing me this just because I'm trans and should apparently consume and enjoy all media related to transgender people

imo the production is either inconsistent throughout, or consistently off. haven't been able to figure it out.i haven't look deeply at the lyrics (just the 3 singles) so maybe it'll make more sense once i do.

ah okay I figured it prob wasn't your first account, not that I recognize those names either. I should do that but I only rate stuff that I have listened to recently, there's lots of stuff in my library that I haven't heard in years that I would want to hear again before rating and that would take a lot of my time

Rock music is cool, but to say that’s what I can enjoy is way far off base. I mean, I was already aware (but not fond) of Sophie by listening to several of the other artists from this label. Most of them are wack as fuck, but Sophie was the only one that ever made me thrash at that skip button
|
| |
And step back on the straw man bs where you assume I’m some ideologically regressive crank. I haven’t investigated at all the lyrical themes of this mess cuz honestly idgaf. Though I suppose I have an idea just based on yalls reaction

Great release, but not without its flaws. 'Is it Cold', 'Not Okay' and the closer are absolutely fantastic, but the rest of the non-single tracks aren't doing much for me. 'Immaterial' starts strong, but the excitement slowly fades when you realise it doesn't really go anywhere with its energy, and 'Pretending' kinda sounds like an unnecessary paulstretch lol.

"pretending" has a reason to be this way, but it might not be as well-executed
personally i get it

A talented producer who confuses ambition with abrasiveness far, far too often
Terrific when the focus is on ambience, absolute garbage everywhere else

Also the percussion on here sounds like either a pig snorting or a really messy shit, up to you as to which description is the most apt
