"Have you heard the birthday party?"

No actually, I was only thinking of the stuff I heard from the Bad Seeds. Thanks for the heads up, it's sounding right up my alley

I actually didn't love the new Rolo Tomassi and I'm someone who usually quite likes Metalcore /mathcore...idk it just didn't sit with me that well, nothing even I can pin it down to

Random site related question - how does one go about getting a review featured? Im, uhhh asking on behalf of a friend

That first song hooked me immediately. Has that same half drunk, end of the night vibe as Harvey Milk's "Once in a While" or Pink Floyd's "In The Flesh"(among others). Great album.

Easily the best postpunk I hear since Protomartyr - Relatives in descent.

features are just at the staff members discretion, so far as I'm aware. if you review something new, they like what you've written and there's space to feature it then it gets featured

and Contributors and Staffers get priority

yeah asleep is right. contribs and staff get priority, but if youve written a stellar review for a new lp, chances are it will get featured

you can request a review to be featured on the forums and they often accept, as long as the review is of good quality, for a new album and you're not pestering them every other day about it. unless things have changed in the last couple of years

"Antimatter Animals" is a top 5 SOTY so far and "You Let My Tyres Down" and "Two Afternoons" are also excellent. Undecided on the rest of the album as of yet

Thanks for the info bout features all! I've had a couple early reviews for projects that were trending on here without features so was always wondering haha

I love Antimatter Animals...that guitar and synth syncopation still gets me every time. It's just so well put-together.

I feel like the lyrics in The Future Of History are also some of the best this year
