yeah, my favourite hip hop scene by a large margin is the east coast resurgence, and this is simultaneously one of the most important and most underrated albums for that era. people are quick to credit wu, nas, biggy, mobb deep etc for that but this preceded all of those as well as laid the groundwork for the entire Boot Camp legacy and buckshot was only fucking 17

Man, crazy. I've been neglecting those classics to be honest, never really paid them much attention. Going to do so over the following months.
Krush has been satisfying my hip hop needs for some years now. One of my all time favourite artists. Such an extensive and diverse discography and all of it is good.

If you feel the urge, don't hold back! Totally worth it in my opinion. From super relaxed and laid back to very intense and claustrophobic, all's there. It started with Jaku and Strictly Turntablized for me, and Kakusei but you know that one already.

yes, this is good

Still on daily rotation since my cd arrived. Amazing record. It could very well be my fave hip hop record ever.

Nice! We now are part of the Sput family who make this average go up rather than down.

I really really dig those drums, the jazzy vibes, and from 90s trip hop to 90s hip hop is a relatively small step I guess.
This album is totally amazing, could see it becoming a 5.0 for sure! Pots, do you know more stuff like this? Would greatly appreciate that, and the bf would too!

90s trip hop to 90s hip hop is a relatively small step I guess.
good point
as for stuff like this are you familiar with any of the other original groups/records that Buckshot signed to his Duck Down Music imprint in the 90s? Heltah Skeltah, Smif-n-Wessun, or O.G.C?

First I'd recommend peeping Crooklyn Dodgers (a revolving super group with each lineup basically doing a one-off for soundtracks). This one is Buckshot (of Black Moon, when he was like 17 or 18), Masta Ace, and Special Ed and is one of my top 5 hip-hop tracks ever recorded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2pzmty3LVs
And this one which honestly is also probably in my top 10 at least lol. The lineup being swapped for DJ premier, Chubb Rock, O.C. & Jeru The Damaja:

And another relatively obscure group that only released a handful of singles called Call O' Da Wild:

I was about to type some more obvious stuff but I'm bored and I'm just gonna make a youtube playlist for you lol
