She's talented AF and the singles I've heard from this are great.

I've always enjoyed her for her lyricism, vocally she's not as dynamic as a lot of her contemporaries but she makes up for it in earnestness, solid melodies and as I mentioned before great lyrics and topics that tend to avoid the tropes many in country stick to.

She's an amazing songstress, that's the gist of it.

It's amusing how upfront the record is about its intentions. The chorus of the opener is straight up didactic in how it tells the listener how to approach the material: "It's a slow burn." That can be forgiven though when a record brims with such genuine feeling; she's in harmony with her self and the universe here.

Been enjoying a lot of country lately - particularly Jenny Lewis and Neko Case. This sounds like something I'd enjoy
