It does have changes from their past material, if only slightly in some regards. Might be enough to tip the scales

Enjoying this so far. Not surprised it's out on The Artisan Era, they've been putting out some solid melo-tech lately.

Yeah, these guys been quiet for a while. Thanks for stopping by my guy

like the production on this a lot more than on fragmentary evidence. songs are solid too, seems a bit more rooted in death metal fundamentally than the techy prog of prior

Yeah, it's a nice collection of influences while still flying under the tech banner. Ultimately feels very precise. Thanks for reading my man

Forest killing it. They're still an amazingly tight bunch, love what they do here. Production is really crisp as well.

This was featured for like a millisecond and then gone lol
It was a good run, I’ve seen shorter feature times : ) and depending the week speed there’s always a chance for a second coming maybe

Review definitely does not read as a 4.0. You offer virtually nothing in the way of critique, spending almost half the review gushing about how Augury does technical death metal right, against the sea of bands in the genre that have lost their way. I definitely wish you described the music itself more, such as providing any details about the instruments themselves. Things you could have definitely mentioned and that I personally would have loved to know about are some of the following:
Guitar - what it tends to spend its time doing, nature/quality of the riffs, are there solos?, etc. Bass - is it fretless?, are its melodies more counterpoint or do they basically serve/mimic the guitars? Drums - what they spend their time doing, blast beats?, are they a highlight of the album?, how technically impressive are they against other examples in the genre? Vocals - are there any cleans?, what's the tonality of the harshes?
But yeah, your writing style is obviously excellent, and what you did spend time describing you did well. You definitely went on too long about the state of the genre and other bands, and this contributed to just making the review too long. Honestly, I was right on the line of pos/neg... but sadly having been given very little of an image of what this album even actually sounds like, plus the absence of any critique, the review to me didn't achieve what to me a review is meant to set out to. But who am I? Just some no-name prick on the internet.

I'd rather you be a "prick" than complacent. Your comment is appreciated and I definitely see where you're coming from. I believe I was able to paint a sufficient picture personally, but obviously it's not perfect and it could be improved.
On mobile, so I can't really attend to your comments. I do know that I can get lost in set-up descriptions, but I tend to contextualize my reviews to give them a setting of sorts. A lot of what you mention is valid critique and I will consider it in the future. I will say that certain technical aspects are simply out of my realm of understanding since, by the end of the day, I don't have in-depth knowledge on specifics.
But yeah, your constructive input is appreciated, really. Would rather have that instead of lies or blanket statements anyways.
