That Breathe whatever single was so so formulaic and boring is the rest of the album like that

Edit: Bring Me Back To Life was the single

Ok so yeah, gave it a listen and I have no idea what to think, but in a good way! There's actual progression from their songwriting? Which is what I've wanted for forever, but now I have to actually process it. Never thought there'd be the day when a Dangerous Summer album was a grower.

Yeah the new one is really great. Like Rowan said, don’t want to give spoilers and discuss it too much cause it’s an incredibly interesting direction for the band and one I was not expecting!

@Freddie I think Bring Me Back to Life is one of the best singles this band has ever had. However despite that the album is nothing like it. Every song has a unique vibe and composition, it is by far their most diverse and boldly produced album. The only thing I can think to compare s/t -> Mother Nature to in recent years is Dealer -> Nearer My God in terms of just shattering all preconceptions of the band.

Bring Me Back is just TDS doing an angels & airwaves song, understandably a hard sell for most but perfect for me lol

I think Way Down is the weakest on the new album and it's still a 4/5. really shockingly consistent album. and AJ's lyrics are the best they've ever been

@Rowan I might have to agree on Way Down and it was by far my favorite of the singles. The other two work so well in the context of the album now.

@Atari I think the Foxing comparisons are just to let explain the wildly unexpected stylistic change from one album to the next. I don’t get any actual Foxing vibes from this.

@Joshie They’re selling the record at their tour and already mailing out some preorders, so I wouldn’t be surprised if another one popped up here soon.

Singles are fine; but like any good TDS album, they sound much better once they fit into the full context of the album. I'm interested to hear it in full.
