one more light is way better than this and if not for the hunting party would feel like a perfectly natural progression from living things considering linkin park has always had electronic influence in their sound so it works, in retrospect most of the whiplash just came from people who only enjoy their heavy stuff who were disappointed that they didnt continue the progression from the hunting party which admittedly is like 95% of their fanbase

"This is just a godawful attempt at making overproduced "mainstream" pop"
This album sounds like Rivers was listening to alot of Imagine Dragons and Fun. Even the production reminds me of them. This might be as bad as Raditude, The Red Album, and Make Believe.

For “Pacific Daydream,” Cuomo closely studied modern pop, combing through Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits playlist as he asked questions like, “How many times do they repeat the same lyric?” and “Is the first note of the chorus always higher than any note in the verse?”

i can’t believe a guy if his age and this far into his career is trying to improve his song writing by listening to the most derivative, lowest common denominator, radio pop. incredible.

Thats unbelievable. What did Rivers try to learn by listening to top 40's music? It blows my mind that the same guy who wrote Pinkerton and The Blue Album has resorted in finding inspiration from artists like Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift. It would be one thing if they did something interesting with the sound, but this just sounds like Raditude with Ed Sheeran production.

really isnt. not one of their best but people are mostly just pissed that it doesn't sound as crunchy as white. just because it sounds top 40 ish doesn't automatically mean its 1 worthy

Idk, this doesn't sound top 40-ish either with big exception to Feels Like Summer (which is one of the better tracks on here btw, fight me). It sounds like an album of B-sides to an album that was written by listening to top 40 hits and lyrically composed through an Excel worksheet.
