Aaaahhhahahahah porc, you never know what happened! I was accidentally playing Coltrane's Ascension Edition I in the background while Dolphy's Out To Lunch was playing! Haahahahahah! So that's why I thought it was a cover album at first. But now I hear it totally isn't.

It worked spookily well, but I love the Dolphy even more without the Ascension-backdrop! šŸ˜

Lmao And here I was thinking it was just garden variety Sput joshing, Trif, you mash-up ICON!!

Today I’m going to listen to Charles Mingus, Sun Ra, and the Col(e)Trane himself all at the same time cause I listen to my music efficiently!

Wowowow so it's still snowing down here in Chicago like it's going out of style, big postcard-vista flakes drifting down at their own lazy pace. Put this on to go shovel the walk, and had to just stop for a bit and watch it fall. Bloody perfect soundtrack for it, instant nostalgia.

By the way, Trif, offers still more than open for you to come take all this snow off our hands

Man I can imagine, that sounds like a wonderful combo.

To be honest porc, the weather gods have graced us with more than enough snow of our own. Such a thick cover hasn't happened in 10 years. But, I mean, we can do with a bit more I guess, if you have too much!

funny, I was just listening to the title track with my entrenched opinion that it's the best piano playing ever, but I was blown away all over again by coltrane's solo. I get not liking the soprano sax's tone tho

Yeah the dude is a legend. There's no way someone average could have teamed up with Coltrane anyway.

This one is quickly becoming one of my favourite things. As in: absolute favourite things. I feel a rating bump is in order. T/t is GOAT material, and the rest is so superb too.

This is some transcendent stuff, just so earthy but ethereal at the SAME TIME how does he do it?
