Yeah it's Led Zep that is turning to prog, like someone said the other day.

No Quarter was cool live

Specially cause there weren't difficult notes for Plant to sing lol

He sings higher notes live in album The Song Remains the Same. In studio, he sings more low and vocals are ''cavernous''.

his voice is unstable as hell in that version of the song

Plant have always seemed more confident live. It's true he looks like he's taking to many chances in the studio version, and it's like he hesitates to much. But I think he wanted it that way. Plant can sing, dude.

Never said he can't. He's an excellent singer

But he never reached the quality he had on studio on live versions and he's definitely not one of the best singers ever as so many people say

(I was refering to the Song Remains the Same version when I said his voice was terrible. I really love the studio version)

Yeah Houses of the Holy is closer to prog than this. That's probably my favorite Zep.

Houses is my personal favorite too, but honestly my top ten would be across basically all the albums so that doesn't mean too much

@SirLord, Plant is surely in my top 10 rock singer. I don't know what live album you've listened to, or are there simply some isolated songs that you see as a disaster? Because I have listened to all their available live albums and he really shines in all these for me.

All songs are enjoyable. Hot Dog is my least favorite, but it's not skippable.

@jethro

I've checked all of their live albums. He's not a "disaster" live, he's great! (No Quarter on TSRtS being an exception) but he's not as awesome as people claim him to be, specially when you compare him to his studio voice
