Have you even seen their response to all of this? They didn't even outright deny and condemn what they said they were doing; they just kinda dodged the accusations. Seems really guilty to me.

It's interesting that Pitchfork didn't post a review for this today, it's certainly the most notable release. I think they are buying time to decide how to factor in these allegations. It unfortunately colors the whole experience of listening to the record (due to the themes of empowerment, self-defense etc.)

Can't tell if they were trying not to hold themselves accountable or if they were just (playing?) ignorant to their offenses.

I mean. With a band's material that's so adamantly opposed to emotional, sexual, and physical abuse, shouldn't that provoke a strong response from them? Their material just seems so unappealing now. What made them so great is how seemingly authentic they were, and now that value is gone.

Even if these allegations are false, I'll never view their records like I have in the past. So whether they did it or not, I still lost my respect for them.

Agreed. I think that only certain bands deserve to have all caps, but I don't think PWR BTTM is one of them... Especially now.
