even if this is part 1 of 2, my problem with this album is that it's not quite shit enough to feel like we should dismiss it as a prank or whatever. Difficult to gauge opinion beyond the Kendrick circlejerk, but for me this is a massive step back. He makes the stripped back weird production work in a few places (DUCKWORTH is pretty great), but other songs on this are just plain fucking awful. LOVE is hands down the worst track he's ever put out, and all the other heavily trap influenced songs on here aren't much better. How can this guy diss Drake so hard then spend a half of his new album trying to sound like him?

"-Heart Part 4 line: "DROPPED ONE CLASSIC RIGHT BACK. ANOTHER CLASSIC RIGHT BACK". Could be TPAB -> DAMN. Could be DAMN. -> second album."
The full line is "drop one classic, right back, another classic, right back, next album whole industry need an ice pack", clearly referring to GKMC -> TPAB -> DAMN.

The only time he could sound a bit like drake is on the track "LOVE" (which i don't think)
It's funny that his first r'n'b track will be associated with drake instantly.
Furthermore, what does it even matter? He puts his stamp on that song and it's far better than anything drake has done recently.

"beg yr pardon"
Arguably Kendrick could be considered a better lyricist than Drake, but Drake tops him in just about everything else.

The only track not as gripping as the rest is "Lust" imo, also it makes sense in the album context.
"Feel" is classic Kendrick already: The part following "Fuck your feelings, I mean this for imposters" is ingenious.
Also people calling this album scattered should pay attention to the lyrics some more. Musically it might scattered but it's all tied through the lyrics. Lust following Love, Pride following Humble... to name a few examples
