"Lead off single "Doris" is in all seriousness, the worst metal song of the 21st century."
Ohh come on, this statement is only a tad bit ridiculous. You seriously would call this worse than any Black Veil Brides song? Worse than any Asking Alexandria song? Worse than "Drug Dealer Friend" by Emmure? Doris is just a ripoff of a bad Deftones song, it doesnt deserve to be called the worse metal song in the 21st century.
People are still overreacting over this album. I am in the process of listening/reviewing it, and I can already tell you that its better than any Suicide Silence album with Mitch in it. Don't get me wrong, it still sucks, but its an improvement over Suicide Silences last 4 albums.

Is it better than the last of mice and men?

Definitely. Doris is better than OM&M's entire album.

Yea, the review here is worse than the album.
Really, I don't think this is THAT bad. It's just so painfully generic in its ripping off of nu-metal.

it's like eddie didn't even try to pretend he wasn't blatantly ripping off Corey Taylor.

Yep, and JD. Such a poor rip too.

This really would be 2.5 material if the vocals were better at the very least

It has some cool moments, tbh. "Listen" and "Don't Be Careful, You Might Hurt Yourself" are the most tolerable tracks for me.

this isn't even instrumentally interesting for nu metal, though. A 2.5 nu album needs to at least bring a riff here or there. From what I've heard this kinda doesn't even do that right.

There are some good tracks here.
Dying in a red room
Hold me up
Conformity
Closer track
Run is hands down the worst song.

That's basically my thing with this. There aren't many memorable riffs or hooks, the production doesn't help in that regard as everything just sounds thick and muffled. I really enjoy records Ross produces, but I just think the mark was missed here.

Yeah the production is pretty bad. No Time to Bleed sounded heavy as balls. The snare is br00tz

For someone who insists on doing clean vocals frequently on this he can't sing for shit and the harsh vox really aren't much better.

It's kind of weird how all these metalcore and deathcore bands (two of them count as ''all'') are going nu-metal. Who's next?

You'd think they could've picked a more respectable genre to transition into

Doris still seems the closest song to decent on here. Terrible, terrible album overall. Idk what they were trying to do. Sounds like deathcore and nu metal mix. Vox and songwriting are horrible.

'Idk what they were trying to do. Sounds like deathcore and nu metal mix'
i'm certain that's exactly what they were trying to do, and to their credit they achieved that, which also precluded the music from having any merit or originality

where do you hear nu metal though
