Out of those I'd say Last Fair Deal is still my favorite, with this in a close second and Viva in 3rd.

@Agent: Last Fair Deal is weird with me. If I let myself sit down and actually listen to it, I like it quite a bit. But it's not one I can simply throw on like most other Katatonia works. December Souls took a long time to get into. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Viva ties for my least favorite Katatonia album. Fall of Hearts slowly moves up my list with each listen. I definitely think you'll enjoy NITND and DEK a lot. I'd also give Tonight's Decision a shot, but be prepared for some awkward vocals.

Yeah, I love it so much because of just how deeply dark the album is. Really helps when it feels like everything's crashing down. It's like how I feel about Opeth's Damnation.

Then NITND should be right up your alley. I'm listening to it now for the first time in probably over a year and it just scratches so many of my itches. Bleak, soothing, just enough aggression, so simple and yet so subtle. Love it.
