Band has never been specially good but this has got to be a new low point for them.

This "anger" comes off as posturing more than anything. I've just heard way too many amazing and inspired bands writing amazing songs to be impressed by something like this. This is spin kick and soft brooding music.

The soft music oddly enough is the only reason I'm not giving this a lower rating. Bleeding in the blur is a great song

Agreed, the hard shit is somewhat fun, but that's all it is. Bleeding in the Blur, Spy, and Ugly are the best cuts off this thing.

Same, honestly. The melodic tracks are clearly the best songs on the album.

I know dude. And riffs like that are just so easy to write. Any metalcore bro that's been playing guitar for a month can come up with them. The album gets worse the more I consider it.

hated them ever since seeing their video from TIHC 2014. i'm not about macho tough guy bullshit and these guys take themselves way too seriously. i do think they'll write a good album one day tho

Agreed. The "REAL HARDCORE!!! ARE YOU REAL OR ARE YOU FAKE!!?" shouts were just real laughable. Also, gotta love all the crowd killing.

Yeah, I can barely take the tough guy act from Nails but at least they pull it off somewhat. The promotional picture for this album where the bassist is flexing is too much.

second google definition: a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result
He speaks for the band and says they don't want to play with bands in a genre whose codifiers are bad riffs and abundant breakdowns and is generally interpreted by him as low quality. He and his band subsequently release an album with both of those things and is low quality. Why isn't that irony?

Your username is dope, but your review isn't
First paragraph is a chore to read tbh and the track by track is always a no.

Lowered myself to the album, I guess. Definitely could have found some greater conceptual ideas to tie everything together without talking about the songs so much. I wasn't thinking about it as a serious review though.
