I think the biggest problem with the orchestra in the Compendium versions is that all of the violin tones sound exactly the same throughout every song (which also gives off that mind-numbing quality to all of the songs, because no tonal shift) (although I am no expert on orchestration... can violin's change their tone? lol), as I listen to original version of Earth-Born Axiom (for example), it offers a lot more variation, choired vocals, even hear some Oboe (maybe not), but yeah, you get the point. It seems on Compendium only one violin sample was used throughout the whole stretch of music, leaving it sound very artificial, you can just tell it's a programmed sample, which is not a good thing at all.

That's what I mean by 'giving headache', right. Because it's also the same tune going on and on and on. While the original orchestrations on e.g. Embers are incredibly detailed and dynamic, I can actually listen to it as an instrumental and it doesn't really loses much, I don't hear it's just 'songs without vocals'.

Also, you were talking about Andromida before, pretty sure that's just one dude who does all of the composition, although I haven't heard that album you recommended so I may do that soon if it's like Mechina

Yes Andromida is a one-man band, he's got no vocals there so he's alone. Unfortunately after those debut EP and LP the guy went on to playing endlessly cycled mid-paced djent riffs with nearly zero melody. Shame really, there were some wicked guitar fireworks on The Void.

Jammed Telesterion a couple of times. The 6 minute intro always cracks me up like... why? lol

In theory, an album with so much Mel Rose vocals should have been my favorite but aside Realm Breaker, not of her other melodies stick as much, so I'm a bit conflicted.

I hope someone reviews it soon, someone more familiar with the whole LORE thing cause it's a bit overwhelming for me.

Well that's exactly what I thought myself. The Archivarius Chaos Ritual is also mildly fine but compared to Cryoshock, The Horizon Effect, The Synesthesia Signal?..

Exactly. I was overhyped with Realm Breaker. I thought "holy fuck, if the album is gonna be like this, one after the other, tis gonna be best Mechina evah!"

But nope. It feels very... convoluted. Still dig it though, just less than I expected.

Right? After I heard the singles I was adamant sure this is the regular Mechina AOTY contender again. Maybe if Joe had chosen different tracks for teasers my impressions would have been different as well!

Telesterion is growing on my, Gene Heresy is undeniably REPETITIVE though, that chorus pretty damn annoying, best part of Gene is the bridge with Mel Rose, that part is beautiful

New album announced, but the negativity about the last album has really bummed me out about this band in general, I feel like I cant enjoy Telesterion without be criticised for it, and that sucks, I wish there was less negativity around this band

Really? I don't know man, I liked Telesterion, just less than Embers though but still has some really good tracks. Didn't know about the new album! That's always good news for me!

https://mechinamusic.bandcamp.com/album/telesterion-core damn check this out yall, really intrigued to see what @MeatWolf thinks of this mixing of telesterion, instruments are SO in your face, this with vocals would be so badass, and the orchestra quietly in the background would be perfection, I really wish I knew of this sooner, Tyrannos... holy crap it sounds so much chunkier

Edit: its crazy how much cheesier Gene Heresy sounds compared to this "core" version of the song
