I'm about to give this a go for the first time. I listened to something by the Antlers years ago, but don't really remember much about it.

all their full lengths (except Uprooted) and the Undersea EP are essential listens. if you dont like one try another one, theyve never written the same record twice.

Awesome, that's exactly the kind of band I'm looking for. This one just sounds very intriguing, and I like it so far. Just on the first track though.

Uprooted is a straightforward lo-fi indie folk album, Attic is still an indie folk album but more fleshed out with more atmosphere, Hospice is one of the saddest albums ever but hard to categorize, Burst Apart is their indie rock record, Undersea is like some ethereal shoegaze/post rock/psychedelic thing, and their newest is like an indie lounge rock album or something.

Hell yeah, listening to Drift Dive right now. Shoegazey/indie-ish stuff has been really hitting the spot for me lately.

I'm preferring Undersea, just comparing the two on first listen. But In The Attic Of The Universe seems like something that'd be hard to appreciate on the first try.

Undersea is great yeah. I often wish it was a full LP, like an oceanic theme record or something, but there's the chance then that it wouldn't be nearly as good as it is with the added songs.

Attic remains their measuring stick for me, and given their recent direction and Silberman's hearing issues I doubt they'll ever top this.

Tentative 4 for now. Likely a 4.5 after repeat listens, but this is pretty great. I still think Familiars is my personal favorite, but this band can apparently do no wrong in my eyes.
