I've been listening to this band since Clayman and I've liked almost everything they've put out so after reading this review and all the comments... I kind of feel like my musical taste has aged into shit with In Flames because everyone hates this album and I'm digging it so far

Fuck my life. Come Clarity was my jam back in the day and this is awful. It's better than Siren Song but you know, that's not saying much.
Also what is with the lead guitar tone? It sounds so weird. Drenched in wah, and so loud compared to the rest of the mix. It sounds like its doubled up or something.

true, ever since Playground he has that wah attached to his hip. Although Playground was actually pretty enjoyable. I do enjoy his solos but maybe tone down the wah and stop mixing them so loud?
To be fair, I don't mind Us Against the World and parts of Underneath my Skin.

No In Flames, no modern garbage In Flames.

I didn't like Siren Charms at all, but I'm digging this album.

Standouts for me are Drained, Like Sand, Through My Eyes, and Battles.

I think they really tried to do something different here, which may be why their ratings are garbage(because it's not what a "true" In Flames fan wants), but I applaud them for doing what they want and actually sounding good at it. It sounds like they've relaxed and aren't trying to force the songs together, which is the vibe I got from Siren Charms.
