People were boycotting venues for letting them play there. What's funny is that it was certainly non-listeners picketing. I'm sure they'd still go see Rilo Kiley at the knitting factory if the venue still booked Viet Cong.

yeah I'm still trying to make sense of the two juxtaposed interludes, they kind of ruin the record's pacing. Anxiety through to Degraded is probs my fav run of songs on any album this year.. but it's a weird one
