I think it's been long enough that I don't remember every single area in this game. I remember that area in the woods, the prison, the hospital, and the apt building but the only one I remember super well is the prison, which I think is one of their best designed levels

Maybe that's what I'll do today, dl an emulator and play through this game again

It's worth it, just make sure to save the waifu at the end

I really wish this game didn't have a stamina bar

I thought the combat was bad in the first three bands but yikes they made it so much worse

It can get pretty annoying i agree, specially when Eileen gets in the way and is hurted, but i pretty much loved everything else tbh and didn't mind the backtracking it all, plot wise it made sense, i was engaged the whole playthrough

Stamina bars in general suck but the combat is w.e, definitely not the reason you play silent hill games and if anything places emphasis on avoiding/running away from most enemies which enhances the horror element imo

Yeah same altho I will say on harder difficulties the puzzles become hilariously obtuse

re-played through this recently but this time without a friend. So many things about this SH in particular creep me the fuck out. Such a masterpiece

It's the second-best narrative, easily, and imo also the second best soundtrack. Fucking love it.

just wish it didn't backtrack through the levels again, gets kinda stale in that department. story and atmosphere is amazing in this one

OST wise, this might be 2nd or 3rd favorite to me, SH3 is my least favorite game but it has my favorite OST in the series so far, everything's so good

Backtracking isn’t too big a deal, but the escorting on the other hand can get fukt

the escorting really isn't THAT bad. it's far more obtuse in other games.

i also love the backtracking aspect of this game, because it builds up to it and has decent amount of variation on what you're doing in the levels second time round.

Agreed, the backtracking made sense. Eileen can only be frustrating at times when she gets in the way and is hurt by you or the enemy, but you can leave her with no weapons in order to avoid this inconvenience
