idk, this album just never quite caught my fancy. it just seems a bit muddled at times for me. i like pretty much every song off yfw, while i only really enjoy a select few from this album. i don't know what it is, but it just seems forgettable to me in comparison to their other stuff. still love it though.

I understand liking this less than some other albums, but I don't think it's muddled at all really. Lots of diversity both in approach and intensity. For me, this album's true appeal comes in trying to analyze what it all means. It's such a straightforward blast of energy, and anyone that knows what BN is all about will be tempted to uncover what Jesse is trying to say.

it has some great songs, particularly vices and at the bottom, but a lot of filler too, much more so than on any other brand new album.
idk, for all the shit i give it, this album is somewhat special to me. i listened to it nearly every day when i was working at the green giant, i just never knew how i felt about it exactly

i appreciate the raw emotion of daisy and i really do enjoy the album, but sometimes it's a little too raw, if that makes sense. it just doesn't quite do it for me. when i listen to deja, tdag, and yfw, i feel like "yes. this is brand new. this is right". but with daisy, something just seems off for me. it doesn't feel like brand new. it's like eating a really good steak that just doesn't sit right in your stomach after eating it. you know it's a good steak, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, but something about it is just off.

This was pretty disappointing to me initially, just felt so basic and lyrically lazy. I don't know if it's a huge grower or if I'm just insane enough to dissect it to the point of imagined perfection, but either way it's a classic to me now.

i see what you mean sowing. muddled is the wrong word. maybe after really trying to dissect all the lyrics and themes myself, it'll click. or maybe one day it'll just click for me, without rhyme or reason. but for now, it just doesn't quite do it for me, compared to their other stuff, i can't quite put my finger on it. i do like more and more each time i listen to it, though. maybe i'll just binge on it all day one day.

my reasons for liking it have more to do with nostalgia than actual enjoyment. like i said, there are a decent amount of filler tracks. and that one stuttering interlude is absolute dogshit. the hits like 'you stole' are also really boring. pretty and all, but ultimately go nowhere particularly interesting

if it upsets your stomach, was it really that good a steak?
I prefer my food not nausea-inducing, dunno bout you

yeah that analogy was awkward lmao

It's a tad weird at first, yeah, but I've always felt like this was intended to be a little unsettling and mysterious, kinda like how Sowing described it as the aftermath to TDAGARIM's inner turmoil. The progression between the two is logical, but they give off totally different vibes.

i'm gonna listen to it a couple times today and really dive into the lyrics and themes more and see if it clicks with me more. it'll click eventually. loving brand new as much as i do, it'll have to click eventually.

this has some of their best songs imo, you stole and noro are top tier brand new, and at the bottom and sink are also fantastic
noro in particular holds up fantastically
