San Diego has an nearly identical opening riff as Bored To Death... S/T had some shared riffs in different tracks as well. Does Blink use motifs now? Risky, for Skiba as the new guitarist, to adopt. OR maybe no one will notice...

low expectations and nostalgia sounds like the way to go with this album. it's catchy, but lacks passion

Agreed Atari. I also don't get the criticism on the vocal production, I thought it was alright. Also thought Matt did a pretty good job on here too.

this is actually ok tho

This is growing on me a lot. There are some really catchy fun songs (Cynical, Bored To Death, She's Out Of Her Mind, Sober, No Future, Rabbit Hole) but the rest is nothing special at all. I think I like it more than Neighborhoods.

The most disappointing thing here is I really wanted 'New Blink' to come out and produce something fantastic without Tom Delonges's ego. Guess not.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but Matt follows mark's bass far to often. This album is basically just a collection of mark songs. If this were released under the +44 moniker everyone would be saying it's awesome

The +44 release is better than this.

Well yeah. But what I'm saying is this isn't blink, it's +44 featuring Matt skiba

As a Mark fan - This is pretty good, may bump to "3.5" There are some obvious misfires, but so far, they haven't derailed the album.

I see what you're saying, but purely from a marketing point, it doesn't make any sense to drop the Blink-182 name if you don't have to. A +44 review wouldn't already have six pages of comments.

As true as that is, the critical reception would be different if marketed under a different name. As an artist myself, I'd much rather have 1 page of positive comments rather than 6 pages of negative and wishy washy ones

Maybe referencing comment pages was a bad idea. I'm just talking purely interest from fans. Using our totally unscientific 6 pages of Blink vs 1 page for +44 -- at their age I'm sure they're prefer a little less artistic integrity in exchange for six times more potential buyers.

I absolutely hated this garbage. Everyone was so hyped that they were going to return to their roots, but this feels more like they're just living off a husk for the cash flow.

I agree with your review. There're a few decent tracks, but there are also an overwhelming amount of mediocre/poor tracks. Along with this, I agree that the lyrics feel half-assed. The amount of "with you's" in Rabbit Hole and "NaNa's" in No Future gets obnoxious very quickly.

People that are giving this a 4.. The barrel of a revolver never looked more appetizing.

Ya one of the first things I thought when I heard this album is that it sounds pretty similar to +44

Actually, +44 was more enjoyable than this. This album oozes Mark's retirement as a musician.

@glorybox94 agreed hard. By far their worst. Neighborhoods was their worst until this dropped.
