this sounds more like crusty grind/metallic hardcore than pv to me.

they did have that slayer influence from the couple singles I heard, so they changed it up again

"Powerviolence for people who haven't heard powerviolence" - yeah, basically this.

It's good, it definitely is, but this is nothing new that hasn't been done well and done better in the past already. It's definitely a hard record, but bands like No Comment, Infest, Siege, Crossed Out, Dropdead, they've all been doing this style for a long time and doing it better. Nails has much better production than most bands in this genre, but I don't think that's necessarily a positive for this sound.

"Powerviolence has been around for 30 years, not really a new thing @gmork. I bet you don't get the term fastcore/thrashcore either"

I mean I'll fully admit that there's something I don't understand about the genre tag. Thrashcore and fastcore at least give some idea of what you're getting into though.

Also look at all of the different genres its being placed in in this thread, sludge, crust, punk, hardcore, grind, crusty-grind, sheesh. One person is like "oh yeah this is definitely sludge" and the next is like "theres nothing sludge about this".

Yeah, like... If you liked their previous 2 albums, I don't get how you can dislike this... Did someone expect something wildly different from their previous works?

Considering they've put out three LPs worth of material equal to one LP from many other bands as far as length is concerned, no.

it's certainly almost the same as Abandon All Life yea, it's just less good how hard is that to comprehend? Unsilent Death is def different tho, more hardcore, less grind and with totally different production

"it's less good but I can't tell you why it just is"

damn I haven't been getting enough of this Sputnik logic 101 lately. I've been out in the real world too much.
