implying stuff as far back as Illusion and Artist didn't also have a fairly large amount of political or social themes

i think so, but it was nowhere near as noticeable as it is on here. aside from maybe the beggars t/t but that song is one of his absolute greatest vocal performances

A Subtle Dagger, Where Idols Once Stood, So Strange I Remember You, Cold Cash, Paper Tigers, Hoods on Peregrine, Blood Clots and Black Holes, Don't Ask, those albums were stuffed with songs with political and social undertones

Okay whistleblower is my jam. This album just seems wayyyy too safe for them. A solid album nonetheless, but somewhat disappointing.

Beggars was my favorite. I am glad they returned to that style.

"btw Easter, you might want to change Wind in the second to last paragraph to Air cause that's what that disc is actually called. Minor gripe though."

Thanks, will change now

The lyrics on M/M are so much better than this tho even though they are also a little preachy. Gonna listen to Beggars with the lyrics today cuz it's been years

Wake Up is the only song here that I flat-out dislike. Way too Audioslave, or something... And I've never been a fan of Black Honey or Blood on the Sand.

Everything else, especially Hurricane, though...
