I bet the album cover is better than any part on the album

Listening to this again, Home Soon is a banger.

The only songs I ever come back to are The Realest, Coma, Flojo, and Blue Wall

For me its basically those 4 plus Home Soon and Rank Rider. Yung & Dum has a nice chorus as well but the lyrics turn me off of it.

flojo, the realest and hero are the jams

Flojo is the best on here agreed.

I wish the guitarist would do more lead work, he's clearly talented enough to make some killer technical leads

I am glad they let the bassist let loose on this though, his work after the second chorus on The Realest was really fucking nice.

Really dug this when it first came out, haven't come back to it in awhile

Very true, the bassist really went off on this album and played some truly spectacular bass lines. He's clearly one of the best in the genre currently, just from this album alone

It's a real shame that most in the genre just ignores the bass.

I agree, you can't even hear it in like 90% of the rest of the genre

Part of the reason why I love Crown the Empire's new album so much is the bass is so damn good. The tone is very obviously Muse-influenced but that just makes it better in my opinion.

hot #take: this band's first ep was bad. the first album is also bad. this one is actually p good.

This band has so much potential...but I feel like it's being wasted on mediocre cliche's and attempts at being 'dope'. I absolutely loved 'tears on the runway' and could accept 'disappear' from their previous album, but other than those I'm having a hard time finding authentic not-so-over-the-top songs. Every song has an aspect to it that gives me hope, but then it just feels like they dumb it down everywhere else. As 'dope' as the rap elements are here - they're undeniably mediocre on their own...I'll hang around though, these guys intrigue me.

Bumping this up to a 4.5, and even Blue Wall is starting to grow on me a bit despite the lyrics annoying me. This album is such a massive improvement over their debut (even though their debut was already fantastic)

Loved the first album but this wasn't that good

I despised their first album, this one was okay.

All of their material is wonderful but this is an incredibly notable step up.
