well it's their first album in 5 years, not to mention it's Radiohead so of course Sputnik is going to jizz all over it.

Yeah this is were it's at. Plus I never managed to get into Radiohead all that much; don't know why.

Was never a big Radiohead fan ether but the new one clicked with me somehow. Now I have a need to listen to their previous stuff to find out what I'm missing.

I'm sure this is great but should I expect this to be as good as that average suggests?

So you guys like the clean vox on Collapse? It's the low point of the album for me.

Not a fan of thrash metal at all really but is this worth checking anyway? Does it do anything interesting or different to warrant that average?

Just checked what people consider the best Radiohead riff and it seems to be I Might Be Wrong. So yeah, they don't have sweet riffs.

The clean vocals on Collapse definitely surprised me even after hearing some of the cleans in Charging the Void. As of right now I don't hate them, but I also don't love them, they are just kinda meh. Kinda mediocre to an otherwise mind blowing album.

I also imagine one day bumping this up to a 5, I just don't ever see myself 5ing an album that I've only had a few days to digest.

Why are you talking about Radiohead riffs as if they're that sort of band?

This is as much progressive as it is thrash so I'd say yes Sinternet, feel free to give it a go.

"So you guys like the clean vox on Collapse? It's the low point of the album for me."

Yeah, I'm definitely ok with the vox and the song overall. But I'm almost always up for some meaningful change of pace in terms of mid-tempo songs on uptempo albums. If I had to choose one thing that maybe bothers me a bit, it would be that somewhere around the middle of the LP, it feels just a tad samey. Nevertheless, this will probably change with repeated listens and as the album becomes more familiar.

Collapse is my 2nd favorite after Recharging the Void actually. What do you guys dislike? The second half goes as hard as the rest and the first half brings some much needed variety.
