They mix a tad of metal, punk, hip hop, ambient, emo,Indie.
that's why White Pony is considered nu-metal you dummy.
edit: and if you have no problems tagging this CD as nu-metal, then you shouldn't have any troubles
doing the same for the White Pony. This Message Edited On 02.23.09

If you call White Pony nu metal you are crazy. Deftones are way beyond nu metal. They mix a tad of metal, punk, hip hop, ambient, emo,Indie. Not even close to nu metal IMO. Even their old stuff isn't really nu-metal.
Just because you don't accept nu-metal as a form of metal doesn't make them not nu-metal. White Pony just happens to be one of the best in the genre.

Dark for fear of failure an inner gloom as wide as an eye and fermenting roiling hate death grip in my veins unveiling rancid petals flowering forth foul nectar the space between a blink and a tear...death blooms.

This is by far Mudvayne's best album, and in my opinion, the best nu-metal album released also.

Whoa. So, it's safe to assume you haven't made much of an attempt to move beyond what you hear on the radio.

Definitely one of the better Nu-Metal albums.

I'm sorry, i'm not putting down anyone who thinks this and/or commented on it, but how the hell is this nu-metal?

That there is no hip hop influence at all (minus a small but still ill-advised rap), the lyrical themes, the vocals, the whole progressive element to the album, the avoidance of a d.j/sampler, the odd time signatures, the theme of the album, the fact they are actually talented as musicians.
Idk, I just can't see this as nu-metal, alternative metal maybe?
