totally but like with the subject matter at hand if it was a 'good list' it woudnt have any albums that actually stand a chance of ending up as definitive for our decade

there hasn't been a rock album recently that has attained "cultural significance" like AI or TBP, and that'll be the main roadblock

the way Sowing describes this makes me really wanna jam it, I am a fan of lots of poppy, bombastic shit that everyone thinks they're too good for. Plus Spirits is a jam.

"very likely:
my beautiful dark twisted fantasy
channel orange
gkmc/tpab

likely:
the seer/to be kind
blackstar
rtj/rtj2
exmilitary/money store
you're dead or cosmogramma
carrie and lowell
black messiah
sunbather

possible:
lonerism
black up
the wild hunt
halcyon digest
helplessness blues"

Lol. No. This would be the sputnikmusic.com list. and maybe the RYM.com list. Aside from maybe MBDTF and GKMC none of these albums even made a dent in the mind of the general audience. If you ask around the average people, all of them will know kanye (most of them not for his music) and a few will know Kendrick and absolutely nobody will Sufjan Stevens or the Fleet Foxes.

Most albums who are engrained as "classics" were huge albums at the very time they came out. (Of course there are exceptions)

I'd say stuff like Beyonces Lemonade (which I loathe personally) has a much much higher chance to be considered a classic by the general consesus than Wild Hunt (which is one of my favorite albums of all time).

i agree but this album doesn't hit that mark. theres just no conviction to convince me this record can get away with being bombastic.
