"There is no argument here. I see now that you're making a semantics argument, one that holds no water"

There ain't no political argument, it's literally you misusing words.

"And I've given you here example after example of that being the case, either in people denying Beyonce's ability to achieve her own success or in people defaming and attacking the character of BLM's leaders or denying them their success"

By who? You only passingly mentioned BLM's detractors, and it's the first time you specifically target people for not believing in Beyoncé, and honestly I ain't seen one person believing that in my life. Beyoncé's way bigger than her husband, and any of her husband's acquaintances, and everyone knows this, for example.

"If to denigrate is to defame, to unfairly criticize and disparage, or to speak ill of someone or something, then there is no better word to describe what is happening to prominent black women, Beyonce included"

So far, you've talked about (black) women being sexualized, discriminated and denied of rights, none of this is being denigrated and targeted by men, which is what your quote obviously implies.

"I look forward to your review"

Been there, done that.

If you want a review from me, you can read the one's that I've posted and neg accordingly, my Miley Cyrus one is plagued by p. much the same problems.

I'm not misusing words. You literally brought in a definition of "denigrate," and my statement falls in line with it to a T.

If you want me to dig out every single article downplaying or detracting from Beyonce's accomplishments, that's not going to happen. But they definitely exist, and a cursory Google News search will reveal it. Just look at the backlash to Formation and her Super Bowl performances for reference. None of this needs to be mentioned in the review because, for the last time, it should be popular knowledge when talking about Beyonce.

And if you don't see sexualization and discrimination as a means of denigrating (or if you prefer, disparaging or deprecating) black women and their accomplishments, you don't quite understand what's up here.

But this is getting tedious, especially as you shift the goalposts in the service of (ironically enough) saving face. First it was a critique of women's roles in popular culture and society (you dropped that one pretty quick), then it was a rebuke of the claim that men denigrate women. Now it's a semantics claim about how the word denigrate should be used. I'm done with this. I respect that you disagree with me, but I just don't see what your true issue is. We've been over this and everything else far too many times already for this to go anywhere. So feel free to neg this review if you haven't already.

EDIT: And for the record, you're a good enough person and your reviews are good too. We just disagree on this. It's all well and good. It's just the internet.

"Just look at the backlash to Formation and her Super Bowl performances for reference"

Really? I thought it was about Beyoncé supporting/fetishizing a political group known for being violent and racist...

"None of this needs to be mentioned in the review because, for the last time, it should be popular knowledge when talking about Beyonce"

Not seeing it, nope. Again, Beyoncé's way bigger than her husband, and any of her husband's acquaintances, and everyone knows this.

"And if you don't see sexualization and discrimination as a means of denigrating (or if you prefer, disparaging or deprecating) black women and their accomplishments, you don't quite understand what's up here"

I don't see it as a way of "...men denigrat[ing] the accomplishments of women in an impotent attempt at saving face."

"First it was a critique of women's roles in popular culture and society (you dropped that one pretty quick),"

Actually, I was the last one to comment on it, and it was me who brought it up again. If you want to discuss that one further, I'm all ears bae.

"then it was a rebuke of the claim that men denigrate women. Now it's a semantics claim about how the word denigrate should be used"

It's both at the same time, as I already explained: either you didn't mean what you wrote ("I was trying to say that women are historically discriminated against!") or you did mean it, to which I've given counter-examples (Beyoncé>Jay-Z and p. much any other man in the industry rn), and expected an explanation ("everyone should know that about Beyoncé" isn't cutting it, sorry).

"So feel free to neg this review if you haven't already"

Feel free to neg mines too!

"i called him an imbecile, not pretended to debate for 6 pages but ok lol" sure thing bro, lmao

that's not what Allahu Akbar means you ignorant fuck

he's not. they are literally 2 different phrases regardless of what language you translate it to

there is another Islamic phrase ("In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful") which is almost exactly like his original strawman phrase.

they don't have the same meaning and both (especially Allahu Akbar) are used in multiple different contexts. but i guess it's easier to be ignorant and say dumb shit
