funny because front bottoms are so much more dynamic than anyone in animal collective could dream to be

alas, I didn't mean particularly that they all sound EXACTLY alike, I mean similar as in tone and the oh so obvious creative process. mumbled, hardy intelligible vocals buried beneath either nondescript layers of soft guitars, harsh, "WONKY" electronics, or both. i guess people enjoy how stagmented this band and its members have become, I for one am repulsed by it. simple as that

im having an out of body experience

"I mean similar as in tone and the oh so obvious creative process"

and again if you actually think this is the case you're really just not listening, like at all. painting with they clearly went for a much more straight forward typically "poppy" style of song writing with short tracks and complete removal of the droney segments, replaced the live drumming with electronics and reinvented their approach to vocals (whether that was a good thing or not on that release is up to u but alas). merriweather was the first time they entirely removed guitars from their song writing process and ended up with the synths and vocal melodies being brought to the forefront, significantly more so than any of their other stuff, while still keeping the watery hazey textures that clearly separates it from the pw stuff. feels they introduced the more melodic poppy style of song writing on the first half and emphasized the stretched out droney type songs to a new extent on the second half, creating probably their only 4 or 5 songs that can really be labeled ambient. this is only out of a few selected albums from their more recent work, if i really wanted to get into pre-feels stuff right now any semblance of a point you might have would completely fall apart honestly. they've varied as much tone wise and emotionally from release to release too, and again if u cant see how much more heartfelt and personal and focused on emotional growth this is compared to stuff like painting with or centipede hz where the lyrics and emotions are for the most part external and about the rest of the world you're really just not paying any attention to the music, but i think everyone in here has probably already come to that conclusion on their own

like its cool if u don't like them, but they've honestly never stopped evolving and really don't have two releases that are very comparable beyond a very surface level.

but i guess you're right they're no where near as dynamic and interesting as suburban white guys that figured out how to play power chords and talk about how they smoke weed and cigarettes and want to kiss girls in the summer or whatever

i dont even care who is originally trying to say the front bottoms are 'dynamic', let it be known that that band is fucking basic as fuck and also irreverently shitty.
