I love his vocals. One of the best records of the year so far.

Yeah this has so many stunning moments, love it, will probably bump my rating. Australis is probably the best song I have heard this year so far.

I feel the same about mix. It's very sibilant prone, almost Insomnium like, even a tad worse.

I'm a simpleton when it comes to production. Just whatever sounds good to me sounds good, and likewise. No idea what the terms "loudness war" and "compressed" means. People keep throwing those around.

I'm not a production expert or anything either, but at least get yoself educated on probably the biggest sound quality controversies in recent years dude:

I see where this is coming from, but if I actually took this stuff into account and actually cared about it this much it would keep me from enjoying lots of my stuff and hinder my mindset of taking is for "what it is"

i mean even without knowing the terms, surely u notice some albums sounding muddled or really loud?

classic recent example is the most recent Fallujah album. u cant even make out any of the instruments without raising the volume to deafening levels

Sabbath is king, I really hope to see one of their very last concerts in August only a few minutes from my college.

This album sounds fine to me; production and mixing rarely ever bothers me and I usually just focus on the music, but extreme cases like Death Magnetic do mar the listening experience a bit for me.

Nah I notice when albums sound muddy for sure. I just never really knew what those technical production terms meant.

I wish the cleans weren't so nasally because I can barely understand anything being said. I like his voice but I want to hear the lyrics

Cleans used to bug me a bit on The Blue, but now i'm used to them.

I love the cleans a lot. Umana and Easter are fucking brilliantly atmospheric.

I don't usually have a problem with that. As long as the vocals are good then it's okay.

I agree Fear, I have looked up a lot of the lyrics on this and they're pretty great.
