If I had to choose a top three on this album, I'd go with... Brittle Boned, Rejoice and Go Home. But that'll change, I'm sure.
What do people think about the lyrics on this? Apart from them being hard-hitting and honest, do you guys actually like the way they're written? I think some of them are a bit too cliched ("I wish I could write songs about anything other than death") but then I think she also paints a image pretty well, and some of these are pretty visceral ("But I can't go to bed without drawing the red, shaving off breaths").

I love all the lyrics Blush. some are a bit cliche I agree though. I'm personally not a fan of "Come visit me" and "I've got more whiskey in my veins...." but they don't really ever bother me. the deliveries are too good

Yeah, I agree with those examples, too, and your point about the delivery is something I was planning on bringing up, too. I think there's an element of every song that's cliched, but I think coupled with the passionate delivery, those cliches are disguised and turned into something poignant and relatable.
Even some of my favourite refrains are things I feel like I've heard or thought millions of time ("You're gonna run, it's alright everybody does", "I know I should act this way in public, I know I shouldn't make my friends all worried", etc.). But I love them so much.

it's because she's got a ridiculously powerful voice and surprisingly original guitar lines

Agreed Blush it's slightly unoriginal yet original and creative enough that it works in a way. Like Yak said though her voice is really powerful which helps her a lot.

The Star Killers was her band and that's where "Forrister's" full length album is under. a bit more country inspired

Thanks a lot, Con, I appreciate it, both about the review and the Star Killers. I've been thinking about writing a review for this, but I'm not too sure - it has two reviews, one of which is brief but quite good, and I feel like my interest might wane before I get the time to write one, perhaps after exams. But I'll see about it, thanks again.

I agree it's a decent short review but it leaves me hanging a bit and with your writing style it'd be really cool to see your take on this album. But of course I can't force ya (;
The Star Killers are so good though btw. I just finished their album and it's def a 4 maybe even better
