Stupid Dream had some great lyrics.

I don't know maybe I'm a sucker for an artist who namedrops places I've been to/familiar with (eg Alton Towers), makes it more relatable I suppose. Sounds really stupid but yeah it gets the nostalgia flowing.

HCE doesn't have any cringe worthy lyrical moments if I recall correctly.

She's living in a scummy area, probably a tower block in east london. The place is full of druggies and criminals.

Steven Wilson has never impressed me before these last two albums, and I'm glad the last two have clicked with me. I feel like he's paid attention to a lot of the criticism he's received about rehashing prog rock from the 1970s. This and HCE still aren't original in the slightest bit, but they both feel genuine and not just a tribute to past greats.

I'd love it immediately. Gilmour always sounded too cheesy for me. Waters is the real shit, though. Bleak and straightforward.

In terms of song writing there's no contest between Waters and Gilmour, Waters was far better but with Gilmour it was never about his song writing so it's impossible to compare them like that.

@tuna "a body is washed up on a norfolk beach"

Lived in norfolk for a few years, so immediate thumbs up to lyrics there

Love the sw lyrical love going on. He's certainly not the best, but I've always loved his lyrics for reasons folks have mentioned above

I distinctly remember my grandad playing The Hare Who Lost His Spectacles, and me laughing pretty hard. Ian Anderson is brilliant.
