I think I'm going to listen to them separate first and then combine. I wanna hear how the second disc stacks up to the first and how it sounds on its own

The second disc is pretty cool on its own. But honestly, the first disc is a hard 5 on its own. A whole other level combined which I've only listened to a few times, but the main part of the album is fucking out of this world.

agree, disc 1 is sonically devastating on its own. if you can, look at the stars while you're listening. and for the love of fuck, use headphones.

The beginning of Itinerant/Ross 128 is some mesmerizing stuff. So good.

Listening to this album in headphones is like masturbation, you are about to have some pleasure, only to understand it would be another dimension of feelings with the partner throwed in.

Also, I don't think anyone brings up BJ's work on the kit.

Dude is one of the most captivating drummers I've ever seen live. Spastic, nonsensical and ruthless style, man. His work is amazing.

o.o idk how you managed to sync it up but I'd imagine that having them coming from seperate speakers would be crazy. I've never listened to it combined any other way than digitally.

It's honestly better if you are able to use separate speakers, you can give it that surround sound effect. As far as syncing it up right, that's just trial and error lol

Ocean - yes. I'm sure the album stands well enough on its own from the ol' computer speakers, but I refuse to listen to it without headphones. Maybe in a car on a long drive, though I'd probably fucking die as my mind floats off into space. I don't know of any other album that benefits this much from setting yourself in the proper environment / listening conditions. Just incredible. And the band has been pretending it doesn't exist for most of the last decade, for some goddamned reason.
